A Brief History of Beau Label

Vincent Melapioni and two partners incorporated Beau Label in 1967. The business grew out of an offset printing company begun by Mr. Melapioni’s father, the grandfather of now President Vincent “V.J.” Melapioni. The senior Mr. Melapioni and his partners directed their efforts toward label printing and the business grew over the next fifteen years. Vincent “V.J.” Melapioni joined his father’s company as a part time employee, working in each department of the company throughout his high school and college years. During this time, Mr. Melapioni’s partners passed away, leaving Vincent and V.J. as the sole owners of Beau Label Corporation. In 1985, V.J. Melapioni became President of Beau Label Corporation.

In 1995, Beau Label Corporation acquired Atlantic Label Company of Belleville, New Jersey increasing both capacity and capability. Together, the New York and New Jersey operations offered a wide range of services, including: flexographic and letterpress printing, hot stamping, embossing, silk-screening and in-line folding and gluing.

In 2001, the company expanded the New York plant to 20,000 square feet and invested in a digital label printing press. The Indigo digital label press helped the company to compete in markets requiring short run, high quality labels, as well as, other specialty printed products.

In 2004, Beau Label acquired Armstrong Label and Long Island Label, further expanding their capability with the addition of rotary letterpress, rotary silk-screen and improvements in the pre-press area.

In 2008, Beau Label consolidated all operations in a single 30,000 square foot facility in Hillside, New Jersey, adding two new Nilpeter full servo drive presses, one eight color and one nine color to an already impressive equipment list.  The company continues to grow and improve under the Melapioni’s direction.
